Hunches

In their book about an enlightened way to wealth "The One Minute Millionaire" Mark Hansen and Robert Allen explain how hunches really work. Have you discovered that when you follow a hunch, the thing that you thought was supposed to happen didn't? What did you learn from this?

Paul wanted to be in a pure intellectual world and not deal with mundane business activities. It was necessity that drove him to set up his own company, Viaweb. Once he got started, Paul found that business was neither so hard nor so boring as he feared. He discovered that all you need to know about business are commonsense things people knew before there were business schools. Paul says that he was "exactly the right sort of person to start a business. But the idea terrified me at first." Yet in 1998 Yahoo bought Viaweb for $49 million. Not bad for a reluctant entrepreneur.

Should you start your own practice? Are you the right sort of person to do it? More people are the right sort of person to start a practice than realize it. There could be many more professional businesses than there are, and that would be a good thing.
